In late December, the U.S. Census released its 2016 population estimates, showing state-by-state growth from 2015 into 2016, noting that the Lone Star State saw the greatest gains. Real estate entrepreneur Marcus Hiles sees the nation-leading increase is a positive sign, as large jumps in population have historically meant upcoming market expansion. Further research within the Bureau’s findings show that the Texas’ four large metros, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Austin and San Antonio, accounted for 84 percent of the state’s growth. Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth led cities around the country by welcoming around 150,000 new residents each, while Austin again topped the nation in growth percentage for the fifth consecutive time, notes Marcus Hiles.
